PARIS, Nov. 12 (Xinhua) -- Anthony Martial, Paul Pogba and Benjamin Mendy have been ruled out for World Cup winner France's next two matches through injuries, announced the French Football Federation on Monday.
Following last weekend's club duties, France internationals have arrived at the Clairefontaine training center to prepare for the UEFA Nations League group match against the Netherlands on Friday and home friendly against Uruguay at the Stade de France next Tuesday.
Martial earned his first call-up into the squad in eight months, but was forced to pull out due to a groin injury.
He was intially replaced by Alexandre Lacazette. However, as the Arsenal striker was also unfit himself, the replacement has been changed to debutant Alassane Plea from Borussia Moenchengladbach, who finished a hat-trick in last weekend's Bundesliga victory over Werder Bremen.
Pogba, suffering from a thigh injury, missed Sunday's city derby against Manchester City. He was replaced by Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Moussa Sissoko, who has not featured in international matches since last Ocotber.
Mendy was hampered by his left knee injury to see the uncapped Lyon defender Ferland Mendy into the lineup.
A draw with the Netherlands can guarantee the world champions a top spot in the group and a chance of contending for the Nations League title next June.
