TIRIN KOT, Afghanistan, Nov. 13 (Xinhua) -- A total of 25 militants have been confirmed dead and 18 others injured as fighting aircrafts pounded Taliban positions around Tirin Kot the capital of southern Uruzgan province, an army spokesman in the southern region, Ahmad Sadeq Eisa, said Tuesday.
The government forces, according to official, conducted the sorties outside provincial capital Tirin Kot and Chora district Monday night killing 25 insurgents and injuring 18 others.
No civilians has been hurt in the raids, the official contended.
Taliban militants haven't commented. Enditem
