BEIRUT, Nov. 14 (Xinhua) -- Lebanese President Michel Aoun emphasized Wednesday continuing to fight corruption, the presidential website reported.

"The judiciary system is playing an essential role in this reform process and in putting an end to violations of laws," he said.

Aoun's remarks came during his meeting at Baabda palace on Wednesday morning with a delegation of the administrative committee of former judges' league in Lebanon, led by Anthony Issa El Khoury.

Referring to the achievements realized during the last two years of his presidential term at the security, administrative and judicial levels, Aoun stated that the progress was one step in the reform process, which he had vowed to continue.

Aoun assured the Lebanese people that he will work on wiping out all obstacles standing in the way of the reform process.

"The Lebanese people have the right to witness our fight against corruption and reforms in the public sector," he said.

"We also want to solve social and economic problems in a bid to build a modern state," he added. Enditem
