BEIJING, Nov. 14 (Xinhua) -- A senior Communist Party of China (CPC) official has called for strong legal protection and services to boost the healthy growth of private enterprises.

Guo Shengkun, a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and head of the Commission for the Political and Legal Affairs of the CPC Central Committee, made the remarks when chairing a plenary meeting of the commission on Wednesday.

He demanded better work systems, policies and measures, and strengthened coordination for work in this area, to ensure the decisions and arrangements made by the Party central authorities on supporting private enterprises were well implemented.

Guo spoke of the need to provide equal protection, properly settle civil, business and administrative lawsuits involving private enterprises, and fight illicit and criminal activities that harm the legitimate interests of private enterprises.

Guo said the use of criminal law enforcement measures in economic disputes should be banned and misjudged cases continue to be identified and corrected to let entrepreneurs focus on doing businesses.

Also on Wednesday, Gan Zangchun, a senior Justice Ministry official said the ministry will soon organize a nationwide campaign to offer services for enterprise lawyers to help them address legal issues and overcome development obstacles.

The ministry will work with relevant law departments of the State Council to research the difficulties of private enterprises in financing, market access, property protection and fair play, and work out solutions as soon as possible, Gan said. Enditem
