BEIRUT, Nov. 20 (Xinhua) -- Romania's Ambassador to Lebanon Victor Mircea said Tuesday that Lebanon must form a committee for fighting corruption similar to that of Romania, local media reported.

"Lebanon should look into Romania's expertise in fighting corruption since 2005 with the creation of a specialized committee for that purpose," Mircea was quoted by the National News Agency (NNA) as saying.

Mircea's comments came during his meeting with Lebanon's State Minister for Combating Corruption Nicolas Tueni.

Mircea discussed with Tueni the possibility of signing an agreement between the two countries to cooperate on fighting against corruption.

"The two also agreed on exchanging expertise in this field," according to NNA.

Mircea said that Romania and Lebanon have long historic relations especially that a big number of Lebanese businessmen work in Romania.
