TOKYO, Nov. 21 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks lost ground Wednesday morning following a weak lead from Wall Street overnight, which was compounded by crude oil futures on Wall Street slumping.
The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average dropped 135.59 points, or 0.63 percent, from Tuesday to 21,447.53.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, lost 15.73 points, or 0.97 percent, at 1,609.94.
Mining, oil and coal product-linked issues comprised those that declined the most by the morning break.
