MENDOZA, Nov. 20 (Xinhua) -- Mauro Icardi and Paulo Dybala scored their first international goals as Argentina defeated Mexico 2-0 in their friendly here on Tuesday.

Icardi gave the hosts an early lead by deftly controlling a long ball and playing a neat one-two with Erik Lamela before cutting inside and lashing in with his left foot.

Dybala sidefooted in the Albiceleste's second goal three minutes from time after a Giovanni Simeone cross.

Despite their prolific form in Italy's Serie A, Inter Milan's Icardi and Juventus forward Dybala had previously underwhelmed in Argentina's national shirt.

Icardi's maiden international goal came in his eighth Argentina appearance while Dybala broke his duck in his 18th match.

Tuesday's result at Estadio Malvinas in Mendoza came four days after the Albiceleste also beat Mexico 2-0 in Cordoba.

Argentina have now won four of six matches under interim manager Lionel Scaloni, who replaced Jorge Sampaoli after the World Cup in July. The only loss during that time was a 1-0 defeat to Brazil in Saudi Arabia last month.
