Indonesia vows to beat Malaysian opponent in AFF beach soccer 2018

JAKARTA, Nov. 23 (Xinhua) -- Indonesian beach soccer team has set the third place target in the ongoing AFF beach soccer 2018, as the team aimed at defeating Malaysian opponent during the forthcoming match at weekend, association disclosed on Friday.

The match between the two beach soccer teams is set to meet on Saturday in Tanjung Benoa of Indonesia's Bali resort island, Indonesian football association said in a statement.

That will be the second match between the Indonesian beach soccer team and their Malaysian counterparts during the the AFF beach soccer tourney this year.

In its last match of the group qualification on Thursday, the Indonesian team was defeated by Thai beach soccer team with score 3-2. The Thai beach soccer team finished atop the group and the Indonesian team was ranked third.

The 2018 AFF beach soccer championship kicked off on November 18 and is to end on November 24.

A total of five teams, comprising host Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam and Timor Leste are featuring the tourney.
