PARIS, Nov. 23 (Xinhua) -- Lyon moved up to the second place in Ligue 1 after triumphing in the derby against Saint-Etienne 1-0 at home on Friday.

A header from center back Jason Denayer extended Lyon's unbeaten run to seven games, and brought huge boost to them ahead of crucial Champions League clash against Manchester City next week.

Denayer nodded home on a Memphis Depay corner in the 62nd minute. The hosts, however, experienced some scary moments following Rafael's red card for his tough tackle on Yann M'Vila, while maintaining their slim advantage until the final whistle, largely thanks to brilliant performance from goalkeeper Anthony Lopes.

Lyon had won at Manchester City 2-1 in their last meeting in September.

Runaway leaders Paris Saint-Germain will take on Toulouse at the Parc des Princes on Saturday, targeting at stretching their perfect winning record into the season.

However, the league powerhouse are sweating on Neymar and Kylian Mbappe, both injured during international duties, to be fit for Wednesday's Champions League match against Liverpool.
