PARIS, Nov. 24 (Xinhua) -- Paris Saint-Germain extended their winning streak since the start of the season to 14 matches with a 1-0 home win against Toulouse, while former France great Thierry Henry savored his first victory in charge of Monaco after edging Caen 1-0 in French Ligue 1 on Saturday.

PSG, deprived of star duo Neymar and Kylian Mbappe due to injuries sustained on international duty, went ahead nine minutes into the match at the Parc des Princes. Edinson Cavani lifted the ball over Toulouse defender Kelvin Amian with his left foot before firing home.

Without Neymar and Mbappe, PSG seemed to lose their offensive efficiency and creativeness. Cavani had a header at target in the 18th minute, but that was disallowed for offside.

Dani Alves came off the bench in the second half for his first appearance of the season. The Brazilian veteran suffered a knee injury in May's French Cup final, which required surgery and ruled him out of the World Cup in Russia.

With their 14th straight win in as many league games, PSG sit 15 points ahead of second-placed Lyon. The Ligue 1 powerhouse now turn their attention to Wednesday's Champions League clash against Premier League side Liverpool.

Monaco failed to win any of Henry's first six matches in charge in all competitions, and have been winless since the opening round in league action prior to Saturday.

Colombian striker Radamel Falcao finally had an answer for that by sending a free kick into the net in the 55th minute.

Despite the narrow win, Monaco remain second-bottom at the table, three points over Guingamp, who lost at Reims 2-1.

Majeed Waris scored a late goal in a counter-attack to salvage Nantes a 1-1 tie against Angers.

Also on Saturday, Dijon were held to a goalless draw with Bordeaux, and Strasbourg lost to Nimes 1-0.
