BEIRUT, Nov. 28 (Xinhua) -- Lebanon's Parliament Speaker, Nabih Berri, said on Wednesday the country cannot go on anymore without a government, the National News Agency reported.

"We should accelerate the formation of a cabinet in a bid to address all economic and social issues," he said in a weekly meeting with lawmakers in Ain El-Tineh.

"The country can no longer tolerate this situation, and everyone must shoulder their responsibilities and work for the formation of a national unity government," he added.

Berri emphasized the need to tackle economic challenges in the country which remain a top concern due to their heavy repercussions on the financial, social and living conditions.

Lebanon has been struggling to form a government since Saad Hariri was designated Prime Minister in May. The formation of government has been facing various hurdles, mainly the differences among parties over the representations in the new government.
