RIO DE JANEIRO, Nov. 29 (Xinhua) -- Atletico Paranaense advanced to the Copa Sudamericana final by completing a 4-0 aggregate victory over Brazilian rivals Fluminense in their semifinal here on Wednesday.
The visitors took the lead in the fifth minute at the Maracana Stadium when Nikao slid in at the far post after a Marcelo Cirino cross.
Cirino was again the provider when his cross set up Bruno Guimaraes, who fired in a first-time shot from close range just before the hour mark.
The result followed Atletico's 2-0 win in the first leg in Curitiba earlier this month.
Atletico will await the winners of the other semifinal between Colombian rivals Junior Barranquilla and Santa Fe.
Junior hold a 2-0 advantage going into Thursday's decisive second leg at Estadio Metropolitan in Barranquilla.
The winner of the Copa Sudamericana will earn a berth in next year's Copa Libertadores, South America's top club competition.
