General aviation airport opens in eastern China's Zhejiang

HANGZHOU, Nov. 30 (Xinhua) -- A general aviation airport in eastern China's Zhejiang Province opened Friday.

The airport, named Moganshan, is located in Deqing County in northern Zhejiang. Its tarmac, 600 meters long and 90 meters wide, is the largest among general aviation airports in eastern China.

More than 35 aircraft belonging to 17 general aviation companies made their appearance on the first operational day of the airport, which has 25 parking bays, 19 helicopter stands and a hangar of 6,700 square meters.

According to the official plan, China will have 500 general aviation airports by 2020 and 2,058 by 2030.
