The 6th Hainan (Danzhou) Cigar Cultural Tourism Festival was recently held at Guangcun Village of Danzhou City, south China's Hainan Province.
The event gathered together tobacco-growing experts from home and abroad as well as representatives from renowned cigar manufacturers, suppliers and media .
Tourists attracted by the festival also came to enjoy this cultural feast.
A cooperation framework agreement was signed at the event between the Danzhou Municipal People’s Government and Robaina Tobacco Plantation Company from Cuba, which will help accelerate the development of Danzhou’s cigar industry.
Featured with cigar culture, this festival started in 2013 to advance the development of holistic tourism and to upgrade the quality of tourism consumption.
Five years on, this event has made a name for itself as a tourism brand.
As its next move, Danzhou plans to further explore local cultural resources and combine them with tourism, according to insiders.
