CANBERRA, Dec. 3 (Xinhua) -- World number one Simona Halep pledged to play the Sydney International, which will take place on January 2019, according to the organizers.
Eight of the world's top 10 have signed on for the tournament except Caroline Wozniacki and Elina Svitolina.
"I'm delighted that so many of the world's most talented players have chosen to come to Sydney in January," said tournament director Lawrence Robertson.
