LONDON, Dec. 3 (Xinhua) -- Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp was on Monday charged with misconduct by the Football Association after he ran onto the pitch to celebrate his side's winning goal in the Liverpool derby against Everton on Sunday.
The game looked to be heading for a 0-0 draw when Divock Origi headed the only goal of the afternoon in the 6th minute of injury time to give Liverpool a fortunate win and spark wild scenes of celebration, which saw Klopp sprint onto the playing surface.
Klopp later admitted his behavior had been "not cool" and claimed he had apologized to Everton boss Marco Silva for his actions.
Silva said he had received no apology, but added that had his team won in similar circumstances, he may have celebrated in the same way.
On seeing the referee's match report, the FA have given Klopp until Thursday to explain his actions, saying "Jurgen Klopp has been charged with misconduct relating to his behavior in the 96th minute of the game between Liverpool and Everton yesterday. He has until 6pm on 6 December 2018 to respond to the charge," on its official website.
If found guilty of misbehavior, Klopp for face a range of punishments, ranging from as warning about his future behavior, a fine or even a touchline ban. Enditem
