WASHINGTON, Dec. 7 (Xinhua) -- In a series of tweets released early Friday, U.S. President Donald Trump repeated his accusations against special counsel Robert Mueller and former FBI chief James Comey over the ongoing Russia probe.

On Friday, Comey will testify behind closed doors at Congress while Mueller's team prepare to make multiple court filings.

The filings are expected to shed light on where the special counsel's anticipated final report is headed concerning the investigation he led of the alleged Russian interference in the 2016 U.S. presidential elections.

"Robert Mueller and Leakin' Lyin' James Comey are Best Friends, just one of many Mueller Conflicts of Interest," the president tweeted, repeating his claim that the Russia investigation is "a total witch hunt."

Mueller was FBI director from 2001 to 2013. Comey was his successor until his dismissal by Trump in May 2017.
