BERLIN, Dec. 8 (Xinhua) -- Jadon Sancho's 2-1 winner helped front runners Dortmund to beat rivals Schalke at the Revierderby and Bayern eased 3-0 past newly promoted Nuremberg on Robert Lewandowski's brace at the 14th round in Bundesliga on Saturday.

Borussia Dortmund wrapped up their fifth straight win in the league after overpowering Schalke 2-1 on the road.

The "BVB" grabbed a perfect start into the derby as Thomas Delaney headed home Marco Reus' delivery into the box with seven minutes into the clash.

Dortmund continued on the front foot and had almost doubled the lead but Paco Alcacer's curl shot missed the target just wide with 20 minutes played.

Schalke gained a foothold the game five minutes later when Guido Burgstaller tested Dortmund goalie Roman Buerki from close range out of the blue.

The "Royal Blues" caught a better start into the second half though as Domenico Tedesco's men leveled the scores after Reus foul play on Amine Harit inside the box allowed Daniel Caligiuri to slot home from the spot in the 61st minute.

It was a short-lived joy for Schalke as Dortmund responded in the 74th minute when Raphael Guerreiro's through ball met Jadon Sancho, who scored the 2-1 winner from tight angle to snatch all three points on road.

With the first Revierderby victory in three years, Dortmund cement their top spot in the standings whereas Schalke slumped to the 13th position.

Defending champions Bayern Munich sealed their second win in row, as Robert Lewandowski's brace was enough to seal the eighth victory of the season.

The hosts ensured a quick start on home soil as Lewandowski needed only nine minutes to break the deadlock after heading home Joshua Kimmich's corner kick.

Bayern gained momentum and should have doubled the lead but Nuremberg goalkeeper Fabian Bredlow tipped Franck Ribery's effort to the woodwork moments later.

The goalkeeper was hapless in the 27th minute though as Lewandowski capitalized on Leon Goretzka's shot on target that dropped off the bar to poke home from very close range.

The second half started nearly as the first half but this time Bredlow kept out Kimmich's effort in the opening period.

Bayern kept it bowling whereas Nuremberg defended deep to avoid a higher defeat. Nevertheless, the German record champions were able to add another goal to their lead as Ribery beat Bredlow from close range in the 56th minute.

The hosts protected their lead to the end and moved on the 2nd place of the table meanwhile Nuremberg slipped to the 16th place, which is a relegation play off spot.

Elsewhere, Freiburg upset third placed Leipzig 3-0. Hoffenheim rallied back from two goals down to secure a two-all draw with Wolfsburg. Lucas Alario's sole goal helped Leverkusen to down Augsburg and Hertha Berlin beat Eintracht Franksurt 1-0.

The following fixtures conclude the 14th round for Sunday: Mainz host Hannover and Monchengladbach see Stuttgart.
