BEIJING, Dec. 10 (Xinhua) -- China's passenger vehicle sales have been shrinking for six consecutive months, data from the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA) showed Monday.

About 2.02 million passenger vehicles were sold last month, down 18 percent year on year, according to the CPCA data.

The accumulative sales of vehicles amounted to 20.15 million from January to November, down 4 percent compared with the same period last year.

Sales of new energy passenger vehicles, however, saw a 57.8-percent rise, amounting to 129,000 last month.

China is the world's largest auto market and also the fastest-growing market for new energy vehicles, thanks to the government's preferential policies to boost clean energy use to curb pollution.
