U.S. says Israel has no aggressive intention with border operation: Lebanese president

BEIRUT, Dec. 11 (Xinhua) -- Lebanese president said here Tuesday that he was informed by the United States that Israel does not have any aggressive intentions in the operation it has launched to block tunnels, National News Agency reported.

"We do not have an aggressive intentions, so there will be no danger on peace along the border," Michel Aoun said at a joint press conference held at Baabda Palace with Austrian President, Alexander Van der Bellen, who arrived a day earlier to Lebanon on an official visit.

Aoun said he discussed with Austrian officials the Israeli repetitive violations of Lebanon's sovereignty which have increased in a remarkable way.

They also emphasized the importance of joining international efforts in a bid to fight against terrorism between the two countrie.
