CHICAGO, Dec. 11 (Xinhua) -- Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT) soybeans traded higher on Tuesday morning following latest efforts to push forward U.S.-China trade talks.

CBOT futures started lower overnight on carry-over selling from Monday's weak close but soybeans reversed on news that Chinese Vice Premier Liu He called U.S. Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin and Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer on trade disputes between the two countries on Tuesday.

The two sides exchanged views on the timetable and roadmap to push forward the following trade talks, according to the statement.

China has been the top buyer of U.S. soybeans. In response to the new development, the most active January 2019 soybeans were up 2.75 cents at 9.125 dollars per bushel as of 1618 GMT.

Meanwhile, March wheat was down 1 cent at 5.2425 dollars per bushel. March corn was down 1.25 cents at 3.8275 dollars per bushel.
