CBA Roundup: Jackson scores 42 points as Beijing edge Xinjiang 113-111

BEIJING, Dec. 12 (Xinhua) -- Aaron Jackson got 42 points as Beijing edged Xinjiang 113-111 for their 12th straight victory in the 18th round of the 2018-2019 Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) league on Wednesday night.

Beijing opened with a 6-0 run before Darius Adams hit a 3-pointer to cut the deficit to 10-9. Beijing got going after that, using an 8-0 spurt to enlarge 22-17 minutes later into the second quarter.

Fan Ziming's outburst made up for a quiet night from Abudushalamu, who didn't make a basket in the first half and visiting Xinjiang fell behind 52-50 into halftime.

Xinjiang played the third quarter strong. Led by Hamed Ehadadi, the Iranian national center, Xinjiang took a 14-3 run to outscore 81-76.

Zhai Xiaochuan beat the shot clock with a layup and Beijing took the lead again with an 8-0 run in the fourth quarter. Aaron Jackson got a critical basket and Xinjiang tied it 99-all on a layup by Fan Ziming, who had 30 points and nine rebounds for the night. Qiu Tian missed a tapping shot before going into the overtime.

Adams hit two straight 3-pointers after Aaron Jackson helped Beijing get a 4-point lead in overtime. Jackson's layup helped Beijing beat Xinjiang 113-111 in the end.

Jackson got a game-high 42 points and 10 rebounds, Justin Hamilton and Zhai Xiaochuan added 20 points apiece for Beijing. Ehadadi took 25 points and 11 rebounds.

Elsewhere on Wednesday, Shabazz Muhammad got 39 points and 14 rebounds as Shanxi beat Bayi 96-86 to end their seven-game losing streak. Tianjin won over Aolong 130-125 at home as Taylor Rochestie scored 53 points.
