RIYADH, Dec. 12 (Xinhua) -- Saudi Arabia announced on Wednesday the formation of an entity of countries along the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden, Al Arabiya TV reported.

The entity will include Egypt, Sudan, Djibouti, Yemen, Somalia and Jordan, the report said.

The announcement was made at the first Foreign Ministers' Meeting of the Arab and African Coastal States of the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden, which kicked off in Saudi capital Riyadh on Wednesday.

Saudi Foreign Minister Adel al-Jubeir said the formation of the entity aims to enhance security, investment and development for countries in this region.
