CHICAGO, Dec. 21 (Xinhua) -- Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT) soybean futures dropped over 8 cents on Friday morning, as Chinese purchases missed traders' forecast.
As of 1520 GMT, the most active March soybeans were down 8.75 cents at 8.975 dollars per bushel. March wheat was down 10 cents at 5.135 dollars per bushel. March corn was up 1 cent at 3.7625 dollars per bushel.
Private exporters on Thursday reported to the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) new export sales of 204,000 metric tons of soybeans for delivery to China, following 1.199 million metric tons to the same destination this week.
China bought 1.43 million metric tons of U.S. soybeans last week, according to USDA. Traders had anticipated that China would buy more soybeans, Market watchers said.
As for weather forecast for agricultural crop, parts of northern Illinois could see spotty freezing drizzle starting Saturday, according to the National Weather Service. Enditem
