SINGAPORE, Dec. 27 (Xinhua) -- Singapore stocks closed higher on Thursday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) going up 1.12 percent or 33.59 points to close at 3044.74.
A total of one billion shares changed hands with a turnover of 673.1 million Singapore dollars (about 490.24 million U.S. dollars). Gainers outnumbered losers by 256 to 155.
The STI index went down 1.31 percent or 39.91 points to close at 3011.15 on Wednesday. Enditem
