Hong Kong stocks close 0.82 pct higher

HONG KONG, Jan. 7 (Xinhua) -- Hong Kong stocks closed up 209.67 points, or 0.82 percent, to 25,835.7 points on Monday.

The benchmark Hang Seng Index traded between 25,753.46 and 26,043.64. Turnover totaled 77.48 billion Hong Kong dollars (about 9.88 billion U.S. dollars).
