PARIS, Jan. 7 (Xinhua) -- Young striker Timothy Weah has signed a one-year extension with Paris Saint-Germain until June 2021 before being loaned without a buyout clause to Scottish side Celtic FC until the end of this season, the Ligue 1 club announced on Monday.
The 18-year-old Timothy Weah, the son of ex-footballer and President of Liberia George Weah, signed his first professional contract in July 2017. He has played six games and scored twice in PSG's first team, winning the Ligue 1 title, as well as the French Cup and the French Super Cup.
Over the past two seasons, Weah has also made 11 appearances, scoring four times, in the UEFA Youth League with the Paris Saint-Germain U-19s.
He has been capped eight times and found the net once for the United States.
"The club congratulates Timothy for his contact extension and wishes him every success in Glasgow," PSG said in a statement.
