SINGAPORE, Jan. 11 (Xinhua) -- Singapore stocks closed higher on Friday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) going up 0.48 percent or 15.14 points to close at 3198.65.
A total of 1.56 billion shares changed hands with a turnover of 1.02 billion Singapore dollars (about 755.55 million U.S. dollars). Gainers outnumbered losers by 249 to 165.
The STI index went up 0.81 percent or 25.44 points to close at 3183.51 on Thursday.
