MEIZHOU, China, Jan. 17 (Xinhua) -- The Chinese women's national football team reached the final at Meizhou Wuhua International championship as they eased past Nigeria 3-0 here on Thursday.
Zhang Rui broke the deadlock early in the first half, before Li Ying scored twice in the second half to clinch the victory.
"It feels great to score on my birthday," said Zhang, who just turned 30.
Zhang hit the ball home in the ninth minute after Wang Shuang's freekick stirred a scramble in front of the goal.
China enjoyed a comfortable second half as Li fired the ball into the far corner after Wang Shuang's pinpoint through pass. Li added another with an acrobatic volley at the right corner of the box.
China will play South Korea in the final, who beat Romania 3-0 earlier in the day.
