ALGIERS, Jan. 18 (Xinhua) -- Algeria JS Saoura on Friday drew 1-1 with Al Ahly of Egypt at home on Friday in the African Champions League's Group D.
In a crowded 20 August Stadium in Bechar province, 700 km south west Algiers, JS Saoura took 1-0 lead in the 54th minute with a powerful header by Yahia Cherif.
But record eight-time title holders Al Ahly equalized on 85 minutes thanks to a header by Karim Nedved.
Al Ahly are still topping Group D with 4 points, followed by Simba of Tanzania with 3 points, JS Saoura with 1 point, and Vita Club of Zimbabwe 0.
Al Ahly and JS Saoura are set to meet again in Cairo on March 15.
