BOGOTA, Jan. 18 (Xinhua) -- The Office of the Attorney General of Colombia said Friday that it had captured Ricardo Carvajal, who is accused of participating in the car bomb attack at a police academy in southern Bogota that killed at least 21 people.

Carvajal admitted his participation in the Thursday attack at the General Santander Police Academy, following the interception of a telephone call on his cell phone, prosecutor general Nestor Humberto Martinez said.

Carvajal will be handed over to a judge in the next few hours and he will be charged with terrorism and aggravated murder, the official said, adding that the Central Command of the armed group National Liberation Army will also be charged for its responsibility in the attack against the police academy.

Colombian President Ivan Duque on Thursday said during a televised message that the government would not rest until it captures all those responsible for the car bombing and brings them to justice.

The government would pursue "their funding sources such as drug trafficking and will use all available tools to remove the fuel from their criminal acts," Duque said.

The victims of the attack were students at the police academy and uniformed officers who were pursuing the car that entered the school loaded with explosives.
