ISLAMABAD, Jan. 21 (Xinhua) -- At least 13 people were killed and 22 others injured in a road accident in Pakistan's southwest Hub area on Monday evening, local media reported.

According to the reports, a passenger coach collided with an oil tanker on the main highway in the Bela Cross area of Hub, a sub-district in the country's southwest Balochistan province.

Majority of the passenger suffered burn-injuries because the coach caught fire following the collision.

Rescue teams rushed to the site and shifted the bodies and injured to the nearby hospital.

The death toll might further rise as several of the injured are in critical condition.

The coach carrying 35 people was on its way from the southern port city of Karachi to the southwest city of Panjgur. The driver lost his control over the coach due to over-speeding and collided with the oil tanker coming from the opposite side, the reports said. Enditem
