JERUSALEM, Jan. 23 (Xinhua) -- The Israeli government is expected to approve the export of medical cannabis products, announced Wednesday by the state's Ministry of Finance.

The approval will enable the export of medical cannabis products that will be licensed by the Israeli Ministry of Health to countries that permit medical use of such products.

The approval is possible following the recommendations of a special committee headed by the ministries of finance, and health.

The proposal will be submitted on Jan. 27 for approval by the Israeli government after it has been also agreed with the ministries of public security, agriculture, economy, and justice.

The decision is expected to open a new market for Israeli manufacturers, increase investments in agriculture, research and production, and create new jobs in these fields.
