SINGAPORE, Jan. 24 (Xinhua) -- Singaporean stocks closed higher on Thursday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) going up 0.62 percent, or 19.62 points, to close at 3,190.73.
A total of 1.45 billion shares changed hands with a turnover of 1.02 billion Singapore dollars (about 749.84 million U.S. dollars). Gainers outnumbered losers by 198 to 184.
The STI index went down 0.68 percent or 21.6 points to close at 3,171.11 on Wednesday.
