LONDON, Jan. 24 (Xinhua) -- British stocks decreased on Thursday, with the benchmark FTSE 100 Index down by 0.35 percent, or 23.93 points, to close at 6,818.95 points.
Centrica, a British multinational energy and services company, soared 2.48 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. St James's Place and Evraz increased by 2.19 percent and 1.78 percent, respectively.
Vodafone Group, a British multinational telecommunications conglomerate, was the worst performer in the blue chips, with its shares losing 3.50 percent.
Reckitt Benckiser Group, a British multinational consumer goods company, dropped 3.30 percent. British American Tobacco, a tobacco group, fell 2.30 percent. Enditem
