JERUSALEM, Jan. 27 (Xinhua) -- A rare 2,000-year-old coin from the rule of King Herod Agrippa was discovered in Shiloh stream in Samaria region, as reported by the Israeli Civil Administration in the West Bank.

The coin was found by a boy during a school trip, then transferred to the Archaeological Unit in the Civil Administration, and will be kept as part of Israel Antiquities Authority's collection of National Treasures.

The coin features three stalks of grain on one side, and a royal canopy surrounded by an engraving reading "King Agrippa" on the other side.

The Israeli Civil Administration said that "this is an exciting finding, and any archaeological finding of this kind adds another part of the historical puzzle of the Land of Israel and the Jewish people."
