Omani, Pakistani FMs meet to discuss bilateral ties

MUSCAT, Jan. 30 (Xinhua) -- Oman's Minister Responsible for Foreign Affairs Yousuf bin Alawi bin Abdullah met on Wednesday visiting Pakistani Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi to discuss bilateral relations, Omani Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement.

During the meeting held in the capital Muscat, the two discussed the importance of moving forward to enhance bilateral relations in areas of mutual interest.

Meanwhile, Sultan bin Mohammed al-Numani, minister of the Sudan's Royal Office, received in his office the Pakistani minister.

According to the Omani News Agency, the two ministers discussed means of developing and enhancing cooperation between the two countries.

The Pakistani minister praised the depth and strength of his country's relations with Oman.

Qureshi arrived in Oman on Tuesday to chair the 7th session of the Oman-Pakistan Joint Committee, which will be held on Thursday to discuss areas of cooperation for the development of economic and investment relations.
