U.S.-listed Chinese firms trade higher

NEW YORK, Jan. 31 (Xinhua) -- U.S.-listed Chinese companies traded higher on Thursday with all of the top 10 stocks by weight in the S&P U.S. Listed China 50 index ending the day on an upbeat note.

Shares of SINA and NetEase surged 5.79 percent and 3.65 percent respectively, top gainers in the top 10 stocks.

U.S. stocks closed mixed on Thursday as investors digested corporate earnings reports as well as the central bank's latest rate decision.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 15.19 points, or 0.06 percent, to 24,999.67. The S&P 500 increased 23.05 points, or 0.86 percent, to 2,704.10. The Nasdaq Composite Index increased 98.66 points, or 1.37 percent, to 7,281.74.

As of Wednesday, the S&P U.S. Listed China 50 index stood at 2,513.50, marking a 9.70-percent increase for both the month-to-date and the year-to-date returns.
