NAIROBI, Feb. 4 (Xinhua) -- The following are news highlights in Kenya's major media outlets on Monday.

-- Taxpayers could have lost as much as 14.2 billion shillings (about 141.8 million U.S. dollars) through fraudulent payments to landowners by the Kenya Electricity Transmission Company (Ketraco), a Nation investigation shows.

On paper, the money was paid to genuine landowners on whose property Ketraco put up electricity transmission lines, but detectives believe a huge percentage of the money was swindled by officials at the state agency. (Daily Nation)

-- In a new low for graft, the dead are now importing vehicles from their graves, in a scheme involving foreign businessmen and state officials only interested in enriching themselves without regard to the lives of Kenyans they put at risk. (The Standard) Enditem
