MADRID, Feb. 11 (Xinhua) -- Ghanaian striker Emmanuel Boeteng is on the verge of joining Chinese Super League club Dalian Yifang from Spanish Liga Santander side Levante in a deal thought to be worth around 11 million euros (about 12.4 million US dollars).

The 22-year-old Boeteng, who became Levante's record signing at a cost of 2 million euros when he signed for the Spanish club from Portuguese outfit Moreirense in the summer of 2017, has been left out of Levante's squad for Monday night's game away to Alaves.

The Valencia based newspaper 'Superdeporte' on Monday published a photo of the striker at Valencia airport, assuring he was on his way to carry out his medical check with the Chinese club prior to signing a three-year deal worth around 3 million euros a year.

The transfer would make Boeteng Levante's second most expensive sale, for slightly more money than Real Madrid signed to buy goalkeeper Keylor Navas, but considerably less than the 28 million euros that Premier League team Bournemouth paid for Colombian midfielder Jefferson Lerma.

Boeteng has shown himself to be a hard-working but hardly prolific striker in his time in Spain, scoring six league goals in 25 appearances last season and with just one goal in just under 700 minutes of first-team football in the current campaign.
