WINDHOEK, Feb. 11 (Xinhua) -- Namibia's annual under-20 football and netball tournament, the Namibian Newspaper Cup, is scheduled to take place during Easter weekend from April 19 to 22, according to Namibia Football Association (NFA) on Monday.
The cup, which brings together elite athletes from Namibia's 14 regions, will be hosted in Mariental, from the Hardap Region, that hosted the last cup in 2005 when they were narrowly beaten 1-0 by the Otjozondjupa region in the final.
According to the NFA, the Namibian Newspaper Cup Organizing Committee will visit Mariental on Tuesday for a final inspection meeting with the Local Organizing Committee (LOC).
Late last year, Hardap region was chosen to host the 2019 edition of the much anticipated regional competition, fending off Oshana and Karas regions.
