TOKYO, Feb. 12 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks rapidly extended gains on Tuesday morning with a weaker yen lifting exporter issues.
The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average added 412.11 points, or 2.03 percent, from Friday to 20,745.28.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, gained 28.64 points, or 1.86 percent, at 1,568.04.
Machinery, textile and apparel, and warehousing and harbor transportation service-linked issues comprised those that gained the most by the morning break.
Markets here were closed on Monday for a national holiday.
