WASHINGTON, Feb. 13 (Xinhua) -- Center Enes Kanter on Wednesday announced that he has signed with the Portland Trail Blazers for the remainder of the season.
"I look forward to helping the Blazers achieve the ultimate goal of competing for a championship. Excited to meet my new teammates, coaches, staff and most importantly the fans. It is a blessing to continue to compete at the highest level," Kanter, who was waived by the New York Knicks last week, said on his twitter account.
The 26-year-old, who's averaged 14 points and 10.5 rebounds this season, fell out of the Knicks' rotation last month and could not reach a deal with his former club before the NBA trade deadline on February 7.
