KATHMANDU, Feb. 14 (Xinhua) -- Nepali Prime Minister K.P. Sharma Oli on Thursday said his government has made sincere efforts in the past one year to achieve prosperity, development and good governance in the country.

In his televised state address, Prime Minister Oli presented a long list of achievements that the government made in the past one year since it came to power in the mid-February last year.

Oli said that the government worked hard to implement the new federal system as outlined in the country's constitution.

"We have completed one year in office and it has been the year of foundation towards achieving prosperity," the prime minister said.

Brushing aside the allegations that his government was headed towards authoritarianism, the prime minister maintained that it was working to ensure social justice, equality, freedom and inclusiveness.

While talking about the government's foreign policy, the prime minister said that it has pursued the principle of 'amity with all and enmity with none'.

"We have been maintaining good ties with our immediate neighboring countries. Our foreign policy conduct is totally independent," he asserted, adding that frequent high level visits from various countries to Nepal have helped foster bilateral ties.

Oli said that his government has formulated necessary laws to attract foreign direct investment in the country.

Prime Minister Oli said that his government has adopted the policy of zero tolerance towards corruption maintaining that the government was committed to good governance and transparency.

Oli said that the government has given priority to accelerating physical infrastructure building including construction of mega projects such as Gautam Buddha International Airport in Lumbini, Regional Airport in Pokhara and among others.

The Oli-led government currently holds two-thirds majority in the parliament. Oli came to power on February 15 last year following the resignation of Sher Bahadur Deuba from the post in the wake of completion of the electoral processes of provinces, House of Representatives and National Assembly.

This was the second time that Oli became the prime minister of the Himalayan nation. In October 2015, he was elected as the 38th prime minister, a month after the promulgation of a new constitution in September.
