ULAN BATOR, Feb. 15 (Xinhua) -- Mongolia on Friday opened an animal oil factory on the outskirts of the country's capital, the first of its kind in the country.

The factory named "Protein" has the capacity to produce 17 tons of animal oils and 24 tons of protein for animal feed per day, the government press office said in a statement.

The factory was established within the framework of a national program called "Industrialization 21:100" which aims at building at least 100 new factories in all 21 provinces of the country in 2018-2020, to boost economic growth and employment, according to the press office.

"I am confident that the factory will play an important role in achieving the government's goal to become a food-exporting country by promoting domestic agricultural and livestock production," Mongolian Prime Minister Ukhnaa Khurelsukh said at the launching ceremony of the factory.
