Team USA defeats Team World in Rising Stars game

WASHINGTON, Feb. 15 (Xinhua) -- Kyle Kuzma of the Los Angeles Lakers had 35 points, Jayson Tatum of the Boston Celtics scored 30 as Team USA beat Team World 161-144 in the Rising Stars game on Friday.

Trae Young of the Atlanta Hawks had 25 points and 10 assists for Team USA. De'Aaron Fox of the Sacramento Kings had 16 assists. Utah Jazz guard Donovan Mitchell added 20 points, nine assists and seven rebounds for the US.

Philadelphia 76ers forward Ben Simmons of Australia led Team World with 28 points. The Chicago Bulls' Lauri Markkanen of Finland had 21 points. Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic from Slovenia had 13 points and nine assists.

The Rising Stars game, featuring first-year and second-year NBA players, has been held five times in the format of Team USA vs Team World. The World now leads the all-time series 3-2.

The skills, three-point and slam dunk contests will be held on Saturday while the All-Star game will take place on Sunday.
