BEIJING, Feb. 20 (Xinhua) -- The National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), China's top political advisory body, on Wednesday held a teleconference where political advisors used video clips, video calls and a mobile platform to express their views.

Wang Yang, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and chairman of the CPPCC National Committee, presided over the conference and gave a speech.

Hailing the use of the Internet in the political advisors' discussions as an innovation and a good avenue for improving the political advisory agencies' work, Wang called for further efforts to draw more members in, pool their wisdom and innovate the ways they perform their duties.

As the political advisory body is about to celebrate its 70th founding anniversary, political advisors at the conference suggested taking the anniversary as an opportunity to better its routine work, strengthen the ranks of its members and office staff and improve the quality and efficiency of its work.

They also discussed issues including the economic situation, private business development, coordinated development of regional economy, reform of social affairs systems, the peaceful reunification of the country and the building of a community with a shared future for humanity.
