CHANGSHA, Feb. 21 (Xinhua) -- Police in central China's Hunan Province have detained 15 suspects involved in trans-provincial drug trafficking, police in the provincial capital Changsha announced Thursday.

In early July 2018, police found evidence of a drug trafficking gang and launched investigations in Changsha and the city of Shaoyang into the activities of the members of the gang and their drug trafficking network.

On Jan. 20, police found that the gang attempted to transport a batch of drugs from Kunming, capital of southwest China's Yunnan Province, to Changsha through logistics transport.

The police launched a raid and arrested two suspects, surnamed Xu and Yang, around 4 p.m. as they arrived at a logistics park in Changsha County to fetch the drugs. Police then arrested a further 13 members of the gang and seized 3.6 kg of drugs, one gun and 36 bullets.

An initial investigation found that Xu had bought drugs several times in Yunnan, starting December 2018, and sold them to other drug dealers and users in Changsha.

Further investigation is underway.
