TIANJIN, Feb. 26 (Xinhua) -- A senior Communist Party of China (CPC) official has stressed efforts to follow through the principles and requirements in exercising full and strict governance over the Party.

Zhao Leji, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and secretary of the CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection, made the remarks during his investigation and research tour in Tianjin from Monday to Tuesday.

Zhao called for concrete measures to carry out all kinds of tasks regarding improving Party conduct, enforcing Party discipline and fighting against corruption to secure a decisive victory in building a moderately prosperous society.

He called on disciplinary inspection and supervisory agencies at all levels to respond to public expectations, diligently perform their duties under the leadership of Party committees and make greater efforts in ensuring the implementation of policies that benefit the people, fighting corruption in fields related to poverty alleviation and public wellbeing, and uprooting the "protective umbrellas" behind organized crime.

While meeting with disciplinary inspectors and supervisory officials in Tianjin, Zhao asked them to deepen their efforts in "sifting out problems and shortcomings in their work" and fixing them.

He also called for perseverance in their work.
