Kong Wenqing rings the bell to signal beginning of class in Huashan Village, Yiyang County, central China's Henan Province, on Feb. 28, 2019. In recent years, as villagers gradually move out of the mountain area, there are only one teacher and three students left in Huashan Village by the new semester of 2019. Kong Wenqing, who has been engaged in teaching career for 36 years here, is in charge of almost all affairs including administration, accounting, cooking and cleaning in the school. The teacher gave up the opportunity to be a headmaster in another school in 2006 and chose to continue teaching in Huashan Village because he believes students here need him more. Though only a small number of students are left, Kong Wenqing just spares no effort to tutor them. He has reached the age of retirement, but he intends to be re-hired and continue teaching as long as there are still school-age children at school. (Xinhua/Li Jianan)
